Frank J. Cummings, PhD

Frank J. Cummings, PhD, has been a well-respected psychologist in northeast Wisconsin for 32 years.  He is also licensed in Minnesota.  Dr. Cummings has a compassionate and personable therapy, assessment, and consultation style. He has an unsurpassed reputation as an honest, cost-effective mental health service provider.

Dr. Cummings received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Brigham Young University. He completed a predoctoral internship at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Cummings has also attended postdoctoral training sponsored by Harvard University School of Medicine, Menninger Institute, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, American Academy of Forensic Psychology, American Bar Association, and American Psychological Association. He is on the medical staff at Theda Clark and Appleton Medical Centers.

Dr. Cummings devotes his clinical practice to treat children, adolescent, and adult mental health concerns.  He has extensive training and experience with forensic populations and was the consulting psychologist for Rawhide Boys Ranch in New London, WI for over 20 years.  Dr. Cummings has taught undergraduate courses in clinical psychology and personality as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Lawrence University.

Dr. Cummings conducts research on, and provides consultation to, athletes and coaches regarding mental skill strategies designed to optimize athletic performance. He provides sport consultation and develops interventions for professional athletes, coaches, Olympic hopefuls as well as amateur and semiprofessional competitors.  Dr. Cummings has competed in 30 half marathons, including one on the continent of Antarctica.
